Famous for its matcha sweets, including matcha gelato and matcha chocolate, the shop is operated by Marushichi Seicha, a longstanding tea merchant established in 1907. They also have branches in Tokyo and Kyoto.
At Nanaya Shizuoka Store, a wide range of matcha sweets and Japanese tea products are available. On the second floor, there’s a spacious eat-in area for customers.
The most popular item is the “Matcha Gelato,” which comes in seven levels of intensity. It’s made using premium matcha from Fujieda, Shizuoka, offering the authentic flavor of matcha.
The recommended intensity is the strongest, “No.7,” known as the “World’s Most Intense Matcha Gelato,” providing a rich and bold flavor. Besides matcha, they also offer flavors like hojicha and Japanese black tea, so consider trying a combination.
The “PREMIUM MATCHA 7” matcha chocolates are also highly sought after. This set includes eight varieties: seven different matcha chocolates with varying intensities and one rich hojicha chocolate.
Nanaya Shizuoka Store also sells bottled tea produced by Marushichi Seicha. These teas are manufactured using their unique extraction method and include around 30 varieties that showcase the unique characteristics of different tea origins and types.
