Ginza Fukurokuju is a Japanese-style cafe located in Tokyo’s Ginza district. It opened its doors in 2018 and offers a variety of Japanese sweets and teas, all made with a focus on high-quality ingredients.
Sweetness and shaved ice filled with attention
The most popular item on the menu is the “Matcha Soft Warabi Mochi.” This delicacy features two variations of warabi mochi: one made with Uji matcha and the other with black sugar. The mochi is made using rare, premium warabi flour, resulting in a delightfully chewy texture. It’s served with rich matcha soft-serve ice cream and topped with black honey, making it a cherished specialty.
Ginza Fukurokuju recommends trying their shaved ice and tea set. The shaved ice is made with pure ice and is carefully temperature-controlled to achieve a fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Alongside classics like Uji sweet potato and black honey and kinako (roasted soybean flour), seasonal fruit shaved ice is also available for a limited time. In the summer of 2021, whole melon shaved ice and shaved ice with Shine Muscat and Kyoho grapes made their appearance.
Additionally, don’t miss out on the seasonal limited-time sweets, such as autumn’s Mont Blanc and winter’s mochi with zenzai (sweet red bean soup).

Their selection of Japanese teas includes the popular “Midori,” a blend of tea leaves from four regions: Kyoto, Shiga, Fukuoka, and Shizuoka, with added matcha. It offers a distinct umami and sweetness, creating a unique tea experience. Other teas like Gyokuro, Hojicha, and Genmaicha are also available, all complementing the sweets.
They even offer creative beverages like hojicha latte and matcha latte with their signature warabi mochi. For those seeking more substantial options, there are also meal items such as seabream tea rice and Inaniwa udon, making it suitable for lunch as well.
