Cha no Niwa is a shop and cafe located in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture, specializing in Japanese tea. Operated by Kanejo Sasaki Seicha, which handles the entire process from tea production to manufacturing and sales in Kakegawa. The shop features a spacious and open interior with full glass walls that offer a view of tea fields right in front. There are also terrace seats outside, providing a relaxing environment to enjoy tea.
The tea menu includes “Kanejo” pride, such as sencha(green tea）, matcha latte, and sencha soda. Tea sweets like tea pudding and tea-infused chocolates are also available.
In the spacious retail area, various Kanejo brand teas are offered for sale.
A recommended option is the “Cha no Niwa Series,” which allows you to savor different flavors based on variations in cultivar, cultivation methods, and roasting techniques. The most popular “Uraraka” is a product made using Kakegawa’s deep-steaming technique for gyokuro, offering the characteristic richness and depth of gyokuro. Additionally, they present distinctive tea, including sencha aged carefully in a wine cellar.
Apart from the “Cha no Niwa Series,” they have a wide range of products like deep-steamed green tea（fukamushi-sencha）, black tea, matcha, and herbal tea, all of which are specialty products of Kakegawa. There’s also an extensive selection of items suitable for gifting.
They also offer a variety of tea-related equipment such as teapots, teacups, and reusable tea bottles.
