Kyoto Gyokuro no Goencha Teramachi Store is a Japanese tea specialty store located in Teramachi Kyogoku Shopping Street, a representative bustling area in Kyoto. With the concept of Making Tea More Enjoyable, they offer uniquely packaged individualistic tea for sale.
Their signature product is the “Goaisatsu Cha” (Greetings Tea), which can be used as a message card to convey gratitude and celebrations. With over 300 designs available, each palm-sized washi paper bag contains one tea bag. The teas inside vary, including gyokuro, Japanese black tea, san-nen bancha, genmaicha, and more. The tea leaves used are sourced from a 170-year-old tea plantation in Uji Tawara, Kyoto.
The most popular series is the dog-themed products. They have “chayori,” which can be sent like a postcard with a stamp attached, and “Ko Kigan Cha” (Small Wishing Tea), a popular series with two tea bags enclosed, perfect for sending heartfelt wishes to loved ones.
The tea named “Hanagyokuro,” a blend of gyokuro and flowers, is a unique product where the color of the tea changes to red or blue due to the flower components. It’s a recommended gift item.
In-store, they offer over 300 products including the “Goaisatsu Cha” and “chayori” series. Feel free to explore and find your favorite design.
