Tea specialty store with wide selection

Kissako Isshin Niyou (Nishiogikubo, Tokyo)

Located in Nishiogikubo, Tokyo, the specialty tea shop Kissako Isshin Niyou offers a variety of tea, with a focus on Nepalese tea, Taiwanese oolong tea, and Japanese tea leaves.
The selection of black tea ranges from premium leaves sourced from the renowned Nepalese Jun Chiyabari plantation to everyday blends. With options such as small 500 yen packages containing a modest amount of tea leaves, customers can try out a variety of tea.

Japanese tea enthusiasts can enjoy Kumamoto Prefecture’s local specialty tea, Yabe Tea, available for purchase. This includes aromatic roasted tea (hojicha) and green tea with rich fragrances that might be hard to find elsewhere.

At Kissako Isshin Niyou, they also recommend trying their homemade scones that pair well with black tea and hojicha. Don’t hesitate to enjoy them as a delightful set with your tea. Although the cafe operations, which have been running since 2011, are currently suspended, they continue to sell tea leaves and scones and operate as a takeaway service.
