Nigakunai Koucha is a specialty store that focuses on Japanese black tea and is located in Shizuoka City. It is situated on the 1st floor of the Shokusai-kan food hall in the department store Parco, which is directly connected to JR Shizuoka Station. The store is operated by the young tea farmers’ group called Green Eight, who cultivate tea in the tea-producing areas of Ryogouchi within Shizuoka City.

At Nigakunai Koucha, they offer Shizuoka-produced black tea that is carefully crafted by the Green Eight. They have a lineup of nine different types of black tea, each with distinct varieties and manufacturing methods. From fruity and refreshing types to smoky flavors, they offer a diverse range of products that can cater to various preferences. They also have black tea for cold brew and tea made from leaves aged for over two years. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that they provide both loose-leaf and tea bag options for all their varieties.

One of the popular choices among their Japanese black teas is the “Sweet” variety of the Tsuyuhikari cultivar. It is characterized by its full-bodied sweetness and gentle flavor. They also offer trial packs with two tea bags each, so you can enjoy comparing different flavors.

The vibrant and colorful packaging of their teas, suitable for both personal use and gifting, is an appealing feature. They also offer gift sets that are sure to bring joy to recipients.
The drinks made by the tea farmers of Green Eight, including black tea, green tea, and hojicha, are available for takeout.

Their Japanese Black Tea Ice Cream is also a recommended treat.

Inside the store, there’s an eat-in space where you can enjoy tea while admiring the scenery of Ryogouchi. Nigakunai Koucha is a place that not only introduces the deliciousness of Japanese black tea but also its uniqueness. With convenient access, be sure to drop by when you’re visiting Shizuoka.
